Walking Tours After Dark

Winnipeg's longest running supernatural themed walking tours, Winnipeg Ghost Walk combines history and ghostly tales to offer a truly unique tour experience. Developed by Matthew Komus author of Haunted Winnipeg and Winnipeg's Exchange District: A Heritage Guide to One of Canada's Most Celebrated Neighbourhoods.

The cold weather and the COVID restrictions mean now is not the time for an outdoor ghost walk. Instead, we have decided to bring the ghost stories indoors. As part of Safe at Home Manitoba, Winnipeg Ghost Walk will be hosting spooky presentations online, that you can enjoy from the comfort of your living room.

The event will be hosted by Matthew Komus, author of Haunted Winnipeg and Haunted Manitoba. Matthew will host three nights of scary stories, gathered from all across Manitoba. Using storytelling and photographic images Matthew blends Manitoba history with true ghostly tales.

The presentations will take place on Zoom and will include time for questions and for participants to share their own haunted stories. Each night will have a unique theme.

On October 29th 2014, Matthew Komus owner and operator of Winnipeg Ghost Walk released his first full length book titled Haunted Winnipeg: Ghost Stories from the Heart of the Continent.

Unexplained footsteps at Seven Oaks House. A woman vanishing into thin air at the Hotel Fort Garry. Spirits reaching out from beyond the grave at the Pantages Theatre. Just what is happening in Winnipeg’s heritage buildings at night? Early Winnipeg was a booming city full of excitement with no shortage of murders, cheating lovers and tragic accidents; all play a role in Winnipeg’s reputation as one of Canada’s most haunted places.

Haunted Winnipeg shares with the reader the city’s best-known ghost stories, as well as some lesser-known tales. Hear about the people who may be haunting these historic sites while learning about the buildings’ unique and creepy history.
